The game had a very big importance for first-ranked Guerreros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Guerreros smashed second-ranked Bogota on the road 69-47. Guerreros forced 21 Bogota turnovers. The former international power forward Wendy Coy (178-1998) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Gabriela Chivata (165-2002) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Angela Ibanez replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Angie Triana added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Bogota. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guerreros (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Bogota at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. They share the position with Huila and Cundinamarca. Bogota will play next round against strong Huila trying to get back on the winning streak. Guerreros will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Caqueta at home.
