Bottom-ranked Freseras managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against ninth-ranked Correcaminos 82-68. Freseras dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 36. They outrebounded Correcaminos 49-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. Costa Rican guard Daniela Quesada (168-1997, college: Salem) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sarah Mgbeike (185, college: OLLU) who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and her fellow American import guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Freseras maintains eleventh position with 2-10 record. Loser Correcaminos dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Plateras and Abejas. Freseras will meet at home higher ranked Rojas (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Correcaminos will play against the league's second-placed Panteras where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
