Regular Season Round 8: Liceo Curico - Colo Colo 56-86
Date: June 3, 2023
Rather predictable result when second ranked Colo Colo (6-1) rolled over on the road 4th ranked Liceo Curico (2-4) 86-56 on Saturday. The winners were led by Martin Gomez who scored that evening 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Nicolas Atala (-1998) supported him with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points and 22 rebounds by Haitian forward Heder Louis did not help to save the game for Liceo Curico. Guard Sebastian Munoz (-1990) added 12 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Four Liceo Curico players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Colo Colo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Liceo PN. Loser Liceo Curico dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Arabe de Valp.. Colo Colo will meet league's leader Liceo PN in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Liceo Curico will play against Municipal C. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
