Regular Season Round 6: Fuerza Regia - Panteras 77-62

Leading Panteras (10-2) recorded its second loss in Monterrey. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Fuerza Regia (6-4) 77-62. Fuerza Regia players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Destiny Pitts (178, college: Texas A&M) notched 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Brazilian forward Damiris Dantas (191-1992) supported her with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Samantha Fuehring (191, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Panteras. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (196-1991, college: UTEP) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia maintains fifth position with 6-4 record. Panteras at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They share the position with Libertadores. Fuerza Regia will play against higher ranked Astros (#4) in Jalisco in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play against Correcaminos and hope to get back on the winning track.
