Regular Season Round 15: La Paz - Leones 84-115

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked La Paz's (2-10) home loss to ninth ranked Leones (5-7) 84-115 on Tuesday. Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to La Paz's 36. They outrebounded La Paz 45-32 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by La Paz's players. It was a great evening for American forward James Edmond (205-1991, college: Lincoln, MO) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). The former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-1993) helped adding 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Coach Mariano Aguilar's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Irin Stark (185-1989, college: STAC) with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Cuban center Dariel Maza (-1991) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leones moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Saracho. La Paz lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost.
