Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Caballeros de Culiacan's 36. Astros brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Shamorie Ponds (185-1998, college: St.John's) nailed 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Isaiah Whaley (203-1998, college: UConn) accounted for 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks. American forward Johnny Hughes III (203-1997, college: UIW) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Caballeros de Culiacan in the defeat. Five Astros and four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
