Sesi Franca defended their NBB title. They outgunned Sao Paulo in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to repeat as champions. The game was mostly controlled by Vivo/Franca. Sao Paulo managed to win second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sao Paulo's 34. They outrebounded Sao Paulo 43-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and power forward Lucas Mariano (208-1993) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. The former international forward Tulio Da Silva (203-1996, college: Missouri St.) responded with 20 points and the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
