There was no surprise when 5th ranked Blumenau (6-8) was crushed on the road by third ranked Vera Cruz (8-6) 76-56 on Sunday. Vera Cruz dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Blumenau's 24. Vera Cruz forced 23 Blumenau turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Izabella Sangalli (182-1995) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Carina Martins (175-1992) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 steals during the contest.
