But Atenas were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Sayago 85-75. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 22. It was a good game for American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Martin Aguilera (195-1987, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Sayago players scored in double figures. Point guard Luciano Planells (184-2001) answered with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-1995) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Atenas. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sayago will play against Olimpia (#4) in Montevideo in the next round.
