Regular Season Round 11: Puente Alto - Luis ML 73-52
Date: June 15, 2023
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Puente Alto (#3) and Luis ML (#7). Puente Alto (7-3) crushed visiting Luis ML (1-7) by 21 points 73-52. Puente Alto forced 26 Luis ML turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for Argentinian power forward Camila Peri (182-2000) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Marisol Gamboa (178-1985) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Daniela Orellana (-1998) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Daniela Alcaino (180-1992) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puente Alto maintains third place with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Univ.Concepcion. Luis ML at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Puente Alto will play against Tomas L (#6) in San Fernando in the next round. Luis ML will play at home against Rancagua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
