Date: June 17, 2023
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Santiago: Univ.de Chile (#5) and Brisas (#4). Univ.de Chile (5-5) crushed visiting Brisas (4-6) by 21 points 84-63. Univ.de Chile forced 32 Brisas turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Carolina Morales (-2003) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Josefa Orrego (172-2003) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Josefina Atan (-2005) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Valentina Olmedo (190-2003) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Brisas in the defeat. Four Brisas players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Univ.de Chile moved-up to fourth place. Brisas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Univ.de Chile's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sergio Ceppi.
