Regular Season Round 11: Frontera - Truenos 102-47

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Frontera (7-1) outplayed 6th ranked Truenos (1-6) in Temuco 102-47 on Saturday. Frontera dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Truenos' 24. Frontera forced 35 Truenos turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Truenos' players. It was an exceptional evening for Constanza Sanchez who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The former international Josefina Viafora (185-1999) accounted for 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Martina Torres (-2003) came up with 11 points and Estephania Muena (-2000) added 6 points respectively for Truenos in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Frontera have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Univ.Concepcion. Loser Truenos keep the sixth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
