Regular Season Round 9: Malvin - Yale 66-60

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#1) and Yale (#6). Malvin (10-1) won against visiting Yale (4-6) 66-60. They outrebounded Yale 44-33 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Florencia Somma (175-1988) who led her team to a victory with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) added 17 points in the effort for Yale. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Yale at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost.
