Another exciting game for Olimpia (3-1) which played on the court of 5th ranked Sayago (2-2). Sixth ranked Olimpia won 79-75. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sayago was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and Brazilian Douglas Nunes (210-1987) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) responded with 31 points and 9 rebounds and forward Brian Silva (190-2000) scored 11 points. Sayago's coach German Fernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia moved-up to second place. Sayago at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Welcome.
