The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Plateras' (5-9) road victory over 9th ranked Abejas (2-12) in Leon 93-71 on Wednesday. Plateras outrebounded Abejas 43-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American swingman Jazmine Jones (183-1996, college: Louisville) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Kamilah Jackson (183-1992, college: Hawaii) supported her with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Four Plateras players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 4 steals by American forward Tylar Bennett (193-1999, college: ECU) did not help to save the game for Abejas. Venezuelan guard Waleska Perez (180-1994, college: Weatherford JC) added 6 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Plateras have a solid three-game winning streak.
