Very predictable result when sixteenth ranked Brasilia (2-3) won against on the road bottom-ranked Cerrado (0-5) 87-77 on Friday. Brasilia forced 21 Cerrado turnovers. Strangely Cerrado outrebounded Brasilia 42-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by forward Carlos Silva (196-2003) who scored that evening 29 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gustavo Silva (187-2002) supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Eduardo Motta (187-2003) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. Center Pyerri Nascimento (204-2001) added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brasilia moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Vasco da Gama. Loser Cerrado still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
