Regular Season Round 13: Sergio Ceppi - Luis ML 80-27

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sergio Ceppi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sergio Ceppi smashed 7th ranked Luis ML in Santiago 80-27. Sergio Ceppi held Luis ML to an opponent 16.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Sergio Ceppi forced 29 Luis ML turnovers and outrebounded them 51-32 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Luis ML's players. The former international Florencia Colossi (168-1998) stepped up and scored 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international forward Francisca Salvatierra (173-1994) chipped in 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Dorys Cespedes (-1986) responded with 13 points and Francisca Polidori (-1995) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sergio Ceppi (11-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Luis ML at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Luis ML will play next round against Brisas trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena of Brisas. Sergio Ceppi will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked CDSC on the road.
