Regular Season Round 10: Correcaminos - Rojas 101-68

Bottom-ranked Correcaminos managed to get a third victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Rojas in Ciudad Victoria 101-68. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 33-point difference proves that Correcaminos was well-prepared to that game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rojas. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Rojas 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Correcaminos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Jade Vega (165-1997, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 24 points and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. American guard Aurjanee Alix (168-1995, college: FSU) produced 16 points and 4 assists and Bosnian-American center Lynetta Kizer (193-1990, college: Maryland) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Correcaminos (3-15) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Freseras. Loser Rojas keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Fuerza Regia.
