Regular Season Round 11: Sportiva Italiana - Boston College 80-62

Everything went according to plan in Valparaiso where leader Sportiva Italiana (9-0) beat 7th ranked Boston College (3-7) 80-62 on Sunday. They outrebounded Boston College 44-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sportiva Italiana shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Boston College's players. The best player for the winners was forward Benjamin Aguilera (-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. The former international center Javier Barra (211-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Lucas Marquez (196) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yves Orelus added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Sportiva Italiana. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Loser Boston College dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Sportiva Italiana will meet Brisas (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boston College's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Sergio Ceppi.
