It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rojas. They outrebounded Rojas 48-30 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Jewel Tunstull (190-1992, college: Northeastern) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-1995, college: Texas) helped adding 22 points. Astros' coach Jonathan Villegas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Akilah Bethel (183-1993, college: LSU) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Bosnian-American center Lynetta Kizer (193-1990, college: Maryland) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Astros. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras. Rojas at the other side keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Fuerza Regia. Astros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rojas will play again at home against Astros (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
