Regular Season Round 12: Municipal C. - Liceo PN 58-111

An interesting game for Liceo PN (11-0) which played road game in against 3rd ranked Municipal C. (5-5). Top-ranked Liceo PN had an easy win 111-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Municipal C.. Liceo PN dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Municipal C.'s 26 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Liceo PN forced 26 Municipal C. turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) who scored that evening 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international center Sebastian Silva (187-1996) supported him with 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Liceo PN players scored in double figures. Even 16 points by guard Esteban Viveros (173-1986) did not help to save the game for Municipal C.. Forward Javier Munoz (-1995) added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Liceo PN have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Loser Municipal C. keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Arabe de Valp. and Stadio Italiano. Liceo PN will meet at home Tomas L. (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Municipal C. will play against Truenos in Talca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
