Regular Season Round 21: Pichincha - La Paz 97-75

Very expected game when 10th ranked La Paz (5-11) was smashed on the road by first ranked Pichincha (11-5) 97-75 on Wednesday. Pichincha forced 19 La Paz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Jonathan Greenfield (190, college: Lehman) nailed 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Argentinian Eduardo Gamboa (189-1984) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Pichincha's coach Giovanny Vargas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Irin Stark (185-1989, college: STAC) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Jorge Beltran (196-1988) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for La Paz in the defeat. Five Pichincha and four La Paz players scored in double figures. Pichincha have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-5 record.
