Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Sayago (7-5) beat at home 10th ranked O.Mundial (5-7) 88-72 on Friday. Sayago looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Italian-Argentinian center Damian Tintorelli (205-1981) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Sayago players scored in double figures. Sayago's coach German Fernandez let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Panamanian-American point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-1989, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Brazilian center Pedro Ianguas (210-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sayago moved-up to fifth place. Loser O.Mundial dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Colon. Sayago will meet bottom-ranked Miramar (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. O.Mundial's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Welcome.
