No shocking result in a game when Pollitas defeated on the road Lares 65-59 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Lares 45-28 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Patricia Morris (201, college: TCU, agency: Shark Sports Management) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Pollitas' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alex Mcdonald responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Paola Maldonado (176-1999) scored 11 points. Pollitas will meet at home Moca in the next round. Lares will play against Cangrejeras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
