An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aguada. Second ranked Aguada faced 3rd placed Yale. Host Aguada (4-2) smashed guests from Montevideo (2-4) 93-73. Aguada made 31-of-37 free shots (83.8 percent) during the game. Aguada outrebounded Yale 41-20 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Aguada looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Argentinian Jacqueline Soto stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Camila Kirschenbaum (170-2002, college: Binghamton) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Aguada's coach Nicolas Altalef allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Four Yale players scored in double figures. Aguada maintains second place with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Remeros. Yale lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 25 de Agosto. Aguada will meet Hebraica (#6) in the next round. Yale's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Malvin.
