Regular Season Round 4: Hatillo - Santurce 62-76

The most surprising game was the first loss of Hatillo (2-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Cangrejeras (2-2) 76-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hatillo. They outrebounded Hatillo 50-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Nairimar Vargas-Reyes (183-2000, college: Stony Brook) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and American center Akela Maize (196-1996, college: NC State) who added 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Dariauna Lewis (185-2000, college: Syracuse, agency: Agency) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Adrienne Godbold (180-1991, college: Illinois) scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cangrejeras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Isabela. Hatillo at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Carolina. Cangrejeras is looking forward to face league's leader Atenienses in Manati in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hatillo will play on the road against Montaneras in Morovis and is hoping to win this game.
