Regular Season Round 4: Bauru - Pinheiros 71-73

The most exciting game of round 4 in the Paulista took place in Bauru. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of their close opponent Paschoalotto/Bauru (2-2) to third ranked Pinheiros (2-2) 73-71 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paschoalotto/Bauru. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists. The former international Jimmy Oliveira (190-1990) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-1997) replied with 23 points and naturalized American point guard Larry Taylor (183-1980, college: MWSU) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Pinheiros went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Bauru and Sao Paulo. Pinheiros is looking forward to face Mogi (#8) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play at home against Sao Paulo (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
