Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: San Jose and Libertad A.. San Jose won against visiting Libertad A. 93-80. It was a great shooting night for San Jose especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The former international forward Alejandro Peralta (195-1991, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 7 assists by international point guard Jorge Martinez (178-1998) did not help to save the game for Libertad A.. The former international forward Diego Bareiro (195-1991) added 14 points for the guests. Four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Colonias.
