Regular Season Round 6: Thunder - Santa Tecla F1 30-117

Liga Superior top team - Santa Tecla F1 (5-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Thunder (0-5) 117-30. Santa Tecla F1 dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Thunder's 18. Santa Tecla F1 forced 52 Thunder turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 39 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Thunder's players. Point guard Paola Campos (165-2001) notched 28 points, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Laura Rivas (171-1999) supported her with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 12 steals. Four Santa Tecla F1 players scored in double figures. Santa Tecla F1's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks by Fatima Hasbun did not help to save the game for Thunder. Center Andrea Cristales (174-1997) added 5 points and 14 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-1 record. Thunder at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Santa Tecla F1 will play against Santa Emilia (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Thunder will have a break next round.
