Regular Season Round 4: Brumas - Rivas 101-67

Bottom-ranked Rivas (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-67 loss to seventh ranked Brumas (2-2) in Jinotega. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Rivas' 28. Brumas forced 22 Rivas turnovers and outrebounded them 36-20 including 25 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Rivas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Amir Warnock (206-1995, college: KWC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Cuban Alejandro Alvarez (195-1992, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Four Brumas players scored in double figures. Brumas' coach Victor Del Barba felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Kelvin Rivera (168-1996, college: RU Camden) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Felix Ramos (-2003) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Brumas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with UNI Basket. Rivas at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Indigenas.
