Regular Season Round 1: Libertadores - Plateros 86-76

There was no surprise in Queretaro where Plateros were defeated by Libertadores 86-76 on Saturday. American forward Myke Henry (198-1992, college: DePaul) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Emmanuel Wembi (205-1997, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) chipped in 7 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertadores will meet Correcaminos in the next round. Plateros will play against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
