Regular Season Round 6: Lares - Moca 73-81

Bottom-ranked Lares is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to second ranked Moca (5-1) 81-73 on Sunday evening. American forward Alexis Jennings (190-1996, college: S.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Jennifer ONeill (165-1990, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points. Even a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Trinitee Jackson (190, college: OK State) did not help to save the game for Lares. Alex Mcdonald added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Four Lares players scored in double figures. Lares' coach Anibal Soto let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Moca have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Manati. Loser Lares still closes the standings with eight games lost. Moca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lares will play against Cangrejeras (#3) in Santurce and look forward to get finally their first victory.
