Regular Season Round 2: Mineros - Astros 76-98

Not a big story in a game when Mineros were outscored by Astros in Zacatecas 98-76 on Monday. Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mineros' 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American-Argentinian Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Jerime Anderson (188-1989, college: UCLA) supported him with 17 points. Even 16 points by American guard Skyler Hogan (196-1997, college: SEMO, agency: Pro Sports) did not help to save the game for Mineros. Guard Bryan Rivera (188-1995) added 17 points for the hosts. Five Astros and four Mineros players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astros will meet Dorados in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mineros will play against Soles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
