Regular Season Round 4: Campo Alto - Felix Perez 65-87
Date: August 24, 2023
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#6) and Campo Alto (#5). Campo Alto was smashed at home by 22 points 65-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Campo Alto's 28. Felix Perez forced 19 Campo Alto turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Nestor Lopez (-2000) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Leandro Ferreira (184-1994) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Mauro Gaona responded with 14 points and 5 assists and Darwinn Rivera scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fifth place. It was Campo Alto's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Felix Perez's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Libertad A..
