There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 9th ranked Osasco (1-6) was crushed by third ranked Pinheiros (4-2) 96-71 on Friday. Pinheiros dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Osasco's 28. Point guard Adyel Borges (188-2002) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Tiago Faria (178) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Alexei Patricio (193-1997) with 16 points and 7 assists and power forward Augusto Alcassa (211-2000) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pinheiros maintains third position with 4-2 record behind leader Sesi Franca. Loser Osasco keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Pinheiros will meet bottom-ranked Araraquara (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osasco will play against Araraquara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
