Regular Season Round 2: Panteras - Dorados 92-94

Not a big story in a game when Panteras were edged by Dorados in Aguascalientes 94-92 on Friday. Dorados looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Eric Thompson (204-1993, college: Pacific) notched 9 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-1992, college: Sacramento St.) supported him with 8 points and 9 assists. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by Puerto Rican forward Christian Negron (201-1998, college: GVSU) did not help to save the game for Panteras. American guard Gary Ricks (185-1991, college: Drake) added 23 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. Panteras' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dorados will meet at home Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play against Freseras in Irapuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
