Very important is a road loss of second ranked Moca (5-3) against fourth ranked Gigantes (5-2) on Friday night. Visiting Moca was defeated by Gigantes in Carolina 75-60. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The winners were led by American guard Selena Lott (180-1999, college: Marquette) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) supported her with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Alexis Jennings (190-1996, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Moca. Salvadorean Hillary Martinez (172-1997) added 15 points and 4 assists for the guests. Gigantes moved-up to second place, which they share with Santurce. Defending champion Moca dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Gigantes will play against bottom-ranked Lares (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Moca will have a break next round.
