There was a surprise result when Mineros beat Halcones Rojos in Veracruz 93-85 on Saturday. American players dominated the game. Guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) notched 21 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Mineros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Quade Green (183-1998, college: Washington, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Halcones Rojos. Guard Michael Henry (198-1995, college: Buffalo St., agency: Haylett Sports) added 17 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Mineros will meet at home Soles in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Halcones Rojos will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
