Regular Season Round 2: Plateros - Abejas 82-81

There was an upset when Abejas were edged by Plateros in Fresnillo 82-81 on Saturday. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) notched 30 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (196-1987, college: Ole Miss) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Plateros players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 4 assists by American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) did not help to save the game for Abejas. His fellow American import forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Abejas' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Plateros will meet Halcones UV Xalapa on the road in the next round. Abejas will play against Correcaminos and hope to secure a win.
