There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Capitol (10-8) defeated 4th ranked Tabare (12-6) in Montevideo 91-74 on Tuesday. Capitol looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by point guard Mateo Giano (186-2000) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 assists and American guard Ladavius Draine (193, college: Tulsa) supported him with 23 points. Four Capitol players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by point guard Martin Perdomo (178-1995) did not help to save the game for Tabare. Naturalized Italian forward Xavier Couste (186-1999) added 13 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Capitol moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Welcome and Sayago. Loser Tabare dropped to the third position with six games lost. Capitol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Olimpia.
