Jaguares faced UNI. Guests from Managua (5-0) defeated host UNI (2-3) 70-56. Jaguares dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UNI's 20. Jaguares forced 24 UNI turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 33 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Center Linda Patterson contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) answered with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and Sharen Sambola (185-2006) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for UNI. Jaguares will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UNI will play against Real Esteli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
