International guard Brianna Jones (177-1997, college: Georgetown, agency: Shark Sports Management) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) supported her with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cangrejeras players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Her fellow American import guard Jill Townsend (180-1998, college: Gonzaga) added 20 points and 4 assists for lost side. Cangrejeras moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Gigantes. Cangrejeras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gigantes will play again against the league's second-placed Cangrejeras in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
