Rather predictable result in Monterrey where Fuerza Regia (5-0) smashed Halcones Rojos (2-4) 90-63 on Saturday. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Marquis Wright (185-1995, college: Siena) who scored 22 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import Shonn Miller (201-1993, college: UConn) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fuerza Regia will meet Soles (#5) in the next round. Halcones Rojos will play against Dorados and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
