Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#1) and Libertad A. (#4). Libertad A. was crushed at home by 16 points 82-98 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. San Jose made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for San Jose especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Ramon Sanchez (194-1991) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Edgar Riveros (184-1991) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international forward Diego Bareiro (195-1991) came up with 19 points and international point guard Jorge Martinez (178-1998) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Libertad A. in the defeat. Five San Jose and four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Jose have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-2 record, which they share with Olimpia K. Libertad A. at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Campo Alto.
