Regular Season Round 11: Real Esteli - Indigenas 84-73

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Indigenas (2-6) were defeated on the road by third ranked Real Esteli (6-2) 84-73 on Tuesday. Real Esteli outrebounded Indigenas 54-28 including a 37-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican Christopher Gaston (201-1989, college: Fordham) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. The former international swingman Jared Ruiz (188-1992) helped adding 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Real Esteli's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Tylan Dean (185-1999, college: Rogers St.) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Despite that victory Real Esteli went down to fourth position due to points difference. Indigenas at the other side keep the eighth place with six games lost. Real Esteli will meet at home Jaguares (#7) in the next round. Indigenas will play against Rivas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
