The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Montaneras' (4-8) home victory over bottom-ranked Lares (1-13) in Morovis 82-76. They outrebounded Lares 46-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. Montaneras players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Montaneras players scored in double figures. Montaneras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward DaNasia Hood (185, college: Texas St., agency: Shark Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Destiny Colon produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Montaneras maintains seventh position with 4-8 record. Lares at the other side stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Montaneras will play against higher ranked Pollitas (#6) in Isabela in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lares will play on the road against Moca to get more than just one victory in their record.
