Regular Season Round 4: Astros - Freseras 95-90
Date: September 7, 2023
Very predictable result in Guadalajara where second ranked Astros (8-2) defeated bottom-ranked Freseras (0-10) 95-90 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Astros made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American guard Jeff Ledbetter (191-1988, college: Idaho, agency: Slash Sports) fired 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Brooks De Bisschop (206-1998, college: NAU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Astros' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American Nick Faust (198-1993, college: LBSU) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-1991) added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 8-2 record behind leader Libertadores, which they share with Halc.Xalapa. Loser Freseras still closes the standings with ten games lost. Astros will meet Panteras (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Freseras will play against Halcones Rojos (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
