Regular Season Round 12: Rivas - Indigenas 91-82

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Rivas (2-8) beat at home 8th ranked Indigenas (2-8) 91-82 on Saturday. The winners were led by Puerto Rican guard Eliel Gonzalez (188-1995, college: NC A&T) who scored that evening 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Keondre Jackson (203, college: Clayton St.) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) by Canadian swingman Zekiah Owens (197-1998, college: AIC) did not help to save the game for Indigenas. American guard Tylan Dean (185-1999, college: Rogers St.) added 22 points and 6 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rivas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Indigenas. Indigenas lost third consecutive game. Rivas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Indigenas will play against the league's leader Leones (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
