Very significant was Tipitapa's (#3, 5-4) victory against second-ranked Real Esteli (6-3) 61-49. Tipitapa forced 26 Real Esteli turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Real Esteli helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Clenia Salazar (-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian guard Tiffany Reynolds (175, college: Lakehead) who added 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. The former international Anahya Hodgson (-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Real Esteli's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Tipitapa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-4 record having just two points less than leader Jaguares. Defending champion Real Esteli keeps the second place with three games lost. Tipitapa are looking forward to face league's leader Jaguares in Managua in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Esteli will have a break next round.
