No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Caribbean Coast (8-4) beat 8th ranked Rivas (2-9) in Managua 77-61 on Sunday. Caribbean Coast forced 23 Rivas turnovers. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-1995) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American Rashad Jackson (191, college: Portland) replied with 22 points and Brad Soldevila added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caribbean Coast moved-up to third place, which they share with Leon. Loser Rivas dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost.
